Leading Washington Food, Drug, Device and Agriculture Law and Lobbying Firm Changes Name to Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Bode Matz PC

[WASHINGTON-July 9] Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Bode Matz PC is the new name for the prominent Washington, D.C. law and lobbying firm previously known as Olsson, Frank and Weeda. The 28 year old firm serves clients in food, drug, medical device, agriculture, and health care policy.

Richard Frank, founder and Senior Principal, Olsson Frank Weeda, said, "The change reflects the overall growth of the firm - growth that's in large measure due to the outstanding contributions from Steve Terman, John Bode and Marshall Matz."

Philip Olsson, founder and Senior Principal, Olsson Frank Weeda, said, "We're very proud to recognize the contributions of Steve, John, and Marshall on behalf of our clients."

About the New Name Partners

Stephen Terman has been with Olsson Frank for 17 years and concentrates his practice in medical device law, FDA regulatory issues, and litigation. Prior to joining Olsson Frank Weeda, he served as Associate General Counsel of the former Health Industry Manufacturers Association (HIMA) - now AdvaMed. Before joining HIMA, Mr. Terman served as Associate Chief Counsel for Enforcement at FDA.

John Bode joined Olsson Frank 18 years ago. He served in three Presidential appointments at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. As Assistant Secretary of Agriculture for Food and Consumer Services, Mr. Bode was responsible for nutrition issues, almost half of the USDA's budget, and scores of rulemakings. During his tenure at USDA, Mr. Bode testified on behalf of the Reagan and Bush Administrations over seventy times and directly oversaw approximately ninety proposed and final rules. His practice at Olsson Frank Weeda, P.C. is focused on legislative and regulatory matters.

Prior to starting his practice in 1980, Marshall Matz spent seven years on Capitol Hill -- five as General Counsel to the U.S. Senate, Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs, and two years as Special Counsel to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. Mr. Matz merged his private practice with Olsson Frank 15 years ago.
